From Mount Koya, we made our way down to Kyoto. Kyoto is the cultural center of Japan, brimming with Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and World Heritage sites.
In Kyoto, we stayed in the Grand Prince Kyoto hotel; it was beautiful, no kidding.
It is an excellent idea to get yourself a local tour guide if you find out about the ancient stories and history behind those magnificent art-structures.
We visited the Inari Taisha Shrine, which honors the Shinto god of rice, sake, rice wine, and fertility.
we also visited the fantastic Kiyomizu Temple, originally dating back to 798, also check out the waterfall inside the complex—the name Kiyomizu means “pure water.”
Later we visited the much-photographed Gold Pavilion, a temple whose second and third stories are covered in gold leaf.
We later went to the modern side of Kyoto, like Kyoto’s skywalk station.
Or the longest stairs ever, that color up at night/or when it gets darker with different welcome messages in many languages.
